Welcome to The Smith School
Zev & Swan
Throughout this project, there was a lot of giggling, effort, and last but not least, confusion. First, Sev researched the inner working of a computer, and wrote out a robotic shell of a script. Next, I (Swan) joined to help Sev make the script into understandable human language, as someone who knows absolutely nothing about computers. After that, Sev recorded a horrendous first draft of the video, which I made him re-record, much to the satisfaction of our teacher. We used a pc simulator, and recorded our voices reading the script to go along with it. Much to my surprise, there was mode to do. We spent a total of around 3000000 hours editing the video, and by we I mean I was sitting and encouraging moral support as Sev edited and patched together all the good clips. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy the video that we worked so hard on.

Star Wars sitcom description: Clips from the original Star Wars trilogy re-touched to capture the style and feel of a 1980s sitcom. In this episode: Han tries to confess his true feelings to Leia, but it doesn’t go quite as planned; Luke makes an interesting discovery.
Black Parade description: A parody music video of My Chemical Romance's legendary emo anthem "Welcome to the Black Parade" that takes the lyrics a little too seriously.

The editing software I used was Adobe Premiere Pro. I first got footage of action movie trailers and Subway commercials on YouTube and used a website to turn the videos to mp4 files. I also got stock videos of sandwiches and put them there too. I then paid somebody off Fiverr to do the voice over for the trailer. Since there were parts where text popped up, I added appropriately styled ones from Premeire's effects library. Since they made the videos lag relentlessly, I had to put them into their own file to edit them before importing them back into the main file. Finally, I found sound effects off of YouTube's Music/Audio Library and put them in specific parts of the video that match the visuals.

This project was somewhat of a challenge, I say this because of the very rough start that I had. I had to redo 2 or 3 different projects like 3 times because of just little errors and misunderstandings. I spent two weeks on what I have right now, I would say it was pretty fun to see my progress. I'd say out of 10 on work it would be a 9/10. I had a lot of coding to do and it took a lot of work on top of all of the player making and background and meteors. I know it isn't finished yet, but I think for what I have right now it's good.
Best, Nick Flavin

Our What Is Love project was a collaboration with Blaze, I was going to make the video while he makes the music.
I made the video by using the Scratch coding site. It took us 2 weeks to finish the project.
We (mostly just me) had a lot of problems during the process of making the video but fixed it, Only to have it not save. :(

This Harry Potter edit is a showcase of my work and progression through my time at Smith. My goal was to create a funny compilation with a good use of editing effects, you can be the judge of that. It took me around 35 hours to learn the techniques, compile video clips, and finally polish every detail to create this finished product. Though time consuming, I have very much enjoyed this experience and look forward to further enhancing my skills in editing.

Making music is NOT easy. like yeah you probably think "oh i could just buy fl studio and boom masterpiece". the truth is when you first open fl studio you're gonna have no idea how to even place a note. it takes literal years to make even kinda ok music, i've been making music for a little over a year now and i'm still not very proud of the stuff i make. but i'm getting better every day. and the only way to do that is to make music like every day. seriously just spend time in fl studio, messing around and seeing what clicks. oh and maybe take some classes. that's how you get good at making music

For this project I used the app Sonic Pi. There was coding needed to create the song. I decided to do this project because I enjoy coding and I like music. The process in the project was a lot of fun but I had to take a lot of time making sure I wasn't making any mistakes in the coding or else the songs wouldn't work.

My project was learning how to build on Roblox Studio. I made a camp fire using parts and effects. Trying to rotate and scale the wood was hard but i eventually got it. It took 1 month to complete.
