The Extended Day Program at The Smith School is recommended for students who struggle with homework completion and organization. The Excel! program focuses on strengthening student executive functioning skills and independent learning in order to support their academic ability. The program is designed to support students in advocating for their learning needs and assists in the growth of student independence, while working in a structured environment, with a small student ratio and one Coach. Students are given the tools and executive functioning strategies that can be transferred into their lives within school and outside the walls of Smith. The program runs Monday - Thursday, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Once enrolled, student participation and attendance is as important as any other part of their scheduled day.
